Born in Kolkata in the famous “SINGHO” family of Nalikul, Hooghly, Mukul Sinha did his schooling from Hindi High School & South Point and did his B.Com & LL B under Calcutta University. He is a practicing Lawyer In the field of Taxation & Conveyencing. He was the Legal Chief of Birla Home Finance.
His Father Late Girindra Nath Sinha was a journalist who founded the Bengali magazines “Ultorath & Proshad. He also produced Bengali classic films like Monihar, Baghini, Mon Niye, Nabarag . His mother Late Rekha Sinha was a short story writer.
He joined Rotary during Rotary Year 1993-94 as a Charter member of RC Jodhpur Gardens Calcutta & was the Millennium President during 1999-2000. At present he is member & Club Trainer of RC Cal New Town.
As President he carried relief material to cyclone affected Orissa in 1999 & later was active with Polio Task Force (Murshidabad) since 2010 & took Medical Mission team to Jangal Mahal.
A Multiple Paul Harris Fellow (MPHF), Mukul has been serving as a District Official from 2000-2001 as Chair, Co Chair, Co coordinator&Committee member. He served as the Assistant Governor (Admin) & A G (Service) and was the District Secretary (Administration) during 2012-13. He represented District 3291 in several meets all over India before being elected to lead District 3291 as District Governor during Rotary Year 2018-19. Mukul has successfully completed his training programmes in GETS at Kualalampur, Malaysia & International Assembly at San Diego, USA.
He is a keen sport & film lover and is a member of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, Marshall in Motor Sports, Life member of A.A.E.I., member of Calcutta Rowing Club and North Calcutta Film Society. He himself had been a journalist, produced Bengali film Chutir Phandey and also acted in lead roles in several plays on stage.
Mukul is happily married to Rakhi & they have Lopamudra (Tua), her husband Abhijit & son Aarin, settled in USA, as their ray of light in life.
